What began as a modest gathering of twelve vendors in a church parking lot has grown into one of Toronto's most beloved market networks. In 2018, a group of local farmers and artisans pooled their resources to create something different: a marketplace that prioritized community connection over commercial transaction.
Those founding vendors understood that people were hungry for authenticity. They wanted to know where their wool sweater came from, who grew their carrots, and the story behind that handcrafted cutting board. We built our markets to satisfy that hunger.
Eight years later, we operate across twelve locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area, supporting over 150 local vendors and welcoming 25,000 visitors each week. Yet our core mission remains unchanged: to nurture the vital connection between maker and buyer.
Every stall at our markets represents someone's livelihood, passion, and craft. We take that responsibility seriously. Our role extends beyond simply providing space; we actively cultivate an ecosystem where small businesses can thrive.
We invest in our vendors through mentorship programs, marketing support, and flexible arrangements that accommodate seasonal businesses. A beekeeper who can only sell honey six months a year deserves the same opportunities as a full-time ceramicist. Our tiered membership system reflects this reality.
For shoppers, we maintain rigorous standards. Every vendor undergoes vetting to ensure product authenticity and quality. When you purchase from our markets, you can trust you are getting genuine locally-made or locally-grown goods.
Every product sold at our markets must be genuinely local or handmade. We verify origins and manufacturing processes to protect both vendors and customers from misrepresentation.
Expansion happens thoughtfully. New market locations open only when we can ensure adequate support infrastructure and genuine community demand exists.
Markets should welcome everyone. We offer sliding-scale vendor fees, accept all payment methods, and ensure physical accessibility at every location.

Many learned their trades from grandparents or through formal apprenticeships, carrying forward techniques that might otherwise fade from practice.
Within 150 kilometres of Toronto lie some of Ontario's most productive farmland. Our farmer vendors bring the harvest directly to urban tables: heirloom tomatoes, microgreens, heritage breed meats, and seasonal produce that actually tastes like something. No cold storage warehouses, no weeks-long shipping times.
